A Short History of the Anes Continent:
In the year 1786 the first successful high pressure steam engine in 1,000 years was built heralding the dawn of the Industrial Revolution. With the world now once again capable of building mechanical wonders not seen since the fall of the ancient Remani Empire. With the beginning of this new era the powers of the world where once again redrawn with new innovations, be it for peace or for war, allowing mankind to soar to new heights not thought of in a Millenia, with the center of all this being the five major powers of the Anes Continent, The Victorian Republic, The Apollan Empire, The Nipponese Empire, The United People's Republic of Ankonska, & The People's Republic of Shangti-La setting up more than a century of war, peace, and overall massive change. I hope you dear reader will come along for the ride. :)
The Victorian Republic:
Victoria was the first country to industrialize, the nation is a social democracy with a strong industrial base. Victorian companies like the Victorian Central Railroad, New-Deo Motive Power Incorporated, & Danielson & Haevanman Maritine & Aerospace Company are international standards for their industries.
The Apollan Empire:
The Apollans are a monarchistic marshal society stemming originating from sucessor nations of the old Remani Empire. They where a close second when it came to the race for Industrialization and match Victoria in most aspects, although some things like their rail network are more centralized. Their militaristic nature had pushed them to conquer much of the Western region of Anes putting many different peoples and cultures under the Kaiser's boot. it's up to anyone to know if their imperialist dreams will fall apart or soar to new reaches like the Eagles their culture is so fond of.
The Nipponese Empire:
A close ally to the Apollans, Nippon is a mainly martine empire due to it's status as an island Nation. Although this far-eastern country was relativley late to industrialization they became a notable world power by the year 1900. They pride themselves on their ship and plane building aswell as their world class broad gauge high speed rail line, The Hiroishen.
The United People's Republic of Ankonska:
A Nation born of the a bloody revolution against an oppressive ruling class that was the Empire of Ankonska, It is a nation of an ideology that threatens the democartic ideals of Victoria, and the Imperialistic and Monarchist ideals of the Apollans & Nipponese known as "Communalism" which seeks to make nations of classless peoples which are not touched by what they see as the oppressive systems that run the other 2 major powers. Due to the previous tsarist regieme's neglect of infrasture such as roads and railways and general industry, the communalist state has been in overdrive to catch up with the rest of the world to mixed results so far. The Ankonskans seek to cause a world revolution under the so called Internationale with the neighboring nation of Shangri-La already joining under their own brand of communalist thought.
